Before Christmas, the Lekėčiai women’s club organizes a good-hearted action that will bring the whole community into action. Decorated with its own decor, the central square of the town is decorated with a large sculpture, a Christmas theme and a square in the main street intersection of the town, pleasantly welcoming not only the community, but also everyone passing through our town.

There, where today stands Lekėčiai tightly surrounded by dense woods, 500 years ago was a rustling grove, the grove that great duke Aleksandras gifted to Jonas Sapiega for losses he had suffered during war with Moscow. If the remaining trees of the grove could speak, they would tell us many stories, including the story of when the flavor of “branchie” settled over Lekėčiai.
