Čekauskas ethnographic museum

Here you can see a unique collection of over 400 jack-plane, other tools for use in wood and flax processing, weighing appliances, prosus, a library that collects Lithuanian and Russian writers‘ writings published before 1965, several Soviet radio exhibits. The Ethnographic Museum preserves the memory of the ancient craftsmen and their woodworking tools: the ancient planks inherited from their parents and grandparents, a swing, a spinning wheel, a bow and bedspreads woven by hand-weaving machines.

About us

There, where today stands Lekėčiai tightly surrounded by dense woods, 500 years ago was a rustling grove, the grove that great duke Aleksandras gifted to Jonas Sapiega for losses he had suffered during war with Moscow. If the remaining trees of the grove could speak, they would tell us many stories, including the story of when the flavor of “branchie” settled over Lekėčiai.
